THE MATT BANDY STORY

This is the story — and client account — which I've been hinting about and working on for almost five months. You can be part of the solution to this crisis, so I hope you'll visit our site!

Whether or not you got a chance to see the ABC 20/20 broadcast about Matt Bandy and his family's zombied computer this evening, be sure to visit our related website for a lot more detail. It is:

      http://www.justice4matt.com

The site — written as if it was, de facto, a giant newspaper — will take you into the center of a crisis and show you how it's been managed from a legal and PR perspective, and what we're doing going forward to mitigate damages and achieve some positive outcomes.

You can help to prevent such crises from recurring, and perhaps even be of assistance on this one, by:

  • Encouraging everyone you know, personally or professionally, to visit this site. Really pull out all the stops on this one, folks, it's an incredibly worthy cause. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.
  • Providing a link to the site from yours, if you want to support what will soon become a nationwide fight for reform.
  • Asking yourself — what can my organization do to be part of the solution, e.g., I've already been contacted by a firm that has developed software which helps ISPs identify and contain computer zombies on their system; or maybe you have clients who can help or become associated with the current underdogs in this struggle --The Bandys.
  • Visiting the "How You Can Help" page at the site.
  • Suggesting potential civil or criminal law solutions to the "better than we'd feared" but still highly unsatisfactory resolution of the legal case.

While I always appreciate reader mail on this and any other issue, it would help us keep track of suggestions and inquiries if any "solution" thoughts you have be submitted via the Contact form, and not by reply email to this special announcement. The Contact form goes right into our PIER system database (thank you Audience Central) and then notifies us.

You are welcome to reprint anything you find at the site, as long as you give the URL from whence it came.

Keeping The Wolves At Bay

Keeping the Wolves at Bay (available in print and PDF formats) remains, to my knowledge, the only commercially published media training manual in the world. It can be purchased at www.thecrisismanager.com, and its pages can be modified to make it YOUR "name brand" media training manual if you are an agency or organization that frequently conducts training. If the latter subject is of interest to you, write to: jonathan@bernsteincrisismanagement.com.

PLAIN ENGLISH DISCLOSURE
