Don’t search this one before breakfast

A NSFW video of a man urinating on a conveyor belt at Kellog’s Battle Creek, Michigan facility is making the rounds this week. Little is known about the incident and Kellog’s is offering up the standard line to press, with variations of “Kellogg takes this situation very seriously and is shocked and outraged by this video. We have alerted law enforcement authorities and regulators, and are conducting a thorough investigation,” coming from company spokesperson Kris Charles.

The company, which manufactures a variety of popular breakfast cereals and treats, has shared that an internal investigation dates the recording back to 2014 or earlier. As internet pundits were quick to point out, that means any Kellog’s foods currently in your pantry should be fine, but it doesn’t mean you didn’t get a little something extra in your cereal a couple years back.

Kellog’s is a brand with a massive amount of trust and loyalty built up, and thus we wouldn’t expect this issue to do any lasting damage. If the issue continues to come up in news coverage then the company will have to release further findings and perhaps show what measures have been implemented to prevent such an incident form happening again, but at this point saying it’s investigating and throwing the full extent of the law at the perpetrator should do the trick.
