Smooth crisis management from the Obama administration

The U.S. Presidential race is heating up, and with it comes the opportunity to observe crisis management situations on a grand stage. When the oil-rich Koch brothers launched a multimillion dollar attack ad against the Obama administration, a response was required (remember, allowing false information with a wide reach to remain undisputed is as good as confirming it). Instead of going with a stuffy Oval Office piece, and without stooping to sniping back with an attack of its own, Obama’s camp came back with a response that was a textbook presentation of 21st Century crisis management.

Masterfully done. We heard the opposition’s points, saw clear proof that they were incorrect, and even shared a couple laughs. No jargon, no doublespeak, just setting the story straight in an informative, even entertaining, manner. This is what crisis management should be.
